A few words about What We Do Our projects & PROGRAMS Kisswa Minds organization shall leave no stone unturned towards liberating the vulnerable and the disadvantaged youth of Uganda and Africa as a whole towards self-sustenance and having economic true livelihood society. Promoting Community Vocational Skills Kisswa Minds provides vocational training (Tailoring, Catering and Hotel management, Computer literacy, Hair dressing among others) to the homeless, youth and women in partnership with African Ark College of Management Sciences and Team University. The Organization has trained 70 women and youth in vocational training and remedial classes wherein, most of the beneficiaries are successfully placed in satisfactory jobs. Career Guidance Kisswa Minds regularly holds career guidance by experts from relevant fields in government, school and community and makes special efforts to raise awareness for self-employment oriented vocational education and motivates youth as well as their parents to provide support to the youth in their efforts. Primary School Smart Primary School was established on the 15th day of January 2011 for educating the children of the weaker sections belonging to the under Privileged class of Nyendo especially for the drop out and child labor. It has a strength of 60 regular students and 9 staff. The children are trained from Primary one to Primary seven and they are admitted to secondary and other sectors. Organizing SHGs Kisswa Minds undertakes special efforts to motivate people particularly from socioeconomically weaker sections and those living in slums, tribal, rural areas, for self-employment. The information regarding the major role of women in economic empowerment of the community is disseminated to the people, which make formation of SHGs possible in highly marginalized areas. Organization has till now formed 12 Self Help Groups(SHGs), which are dedicatedly working towards the resurrection of their social as well as economic status, resulting in acknowledgement of their role in community and improvement of living status. Drug awareness camp Kisswa Minds organizes camps in slum areas and locales inhabited by socially and financially disadvantaged strata not only for disseminating awareness about harmful effects of drugs but also spread knowledge about methods for de -addiction. Until now, more than twenty six (26) individuals in Nyendo have benefited from the de-addiction drive launched by Kisswa Minds in the year 2019.The drug awareness camps are one of the basic components of our role in community development. Legal Aid Camp Kisswa Minds organized legal camps at Hotel Brovad, Kyanamukaka , Kisaabwa and other places for making available legal aid particularly to women and people from scheduled castes and tribes. Disability camp Kisswa Minds not only spreads information and awareness among disabled/handicapped people about various beneficial schemes enunciated for them but it also makes concrete efforts to enable them to benefit from such schemes, financially and medically. As a result of these efforts by Kisswa Minds 7 physically disabled people were able to begin self-employment. Health Check -ups camps Organization in partnership with different health centers is regularly organizing health checkup camps in different areas and provides prescribed medicines for free of cost Gender Resource Center The organization is entrusted with the responsibility to function as the single window clearance center for all the welfare schemes of united groups in Ssenyange and Kisaabwa . Guidance and Counseling Services to girl scholars. If such skills like entrepreneurial development is highly emphasized to all informal and formal entrepreneurs, African woman would be a step ahead in terms of development a factor that shall eradicate unemployment and ragging behind in terms of creativity and innovation skills. This is what USA and other developed nations did many years ago and today there are the world’s superpowers.
